Trump Offers Support to Adams and Cuomo Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Former President Donald Trump has criticized the Adult Survivors Act, which allowed women to file lawsuits against him, Mayor Adams, and ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo for alleged sexual assaults from decades ago. Trump called the law “totally unfair and unconstitutional” and urged Adams and Cuomo to fight it. Adams was sued just before the deadline by a woman who claims he assaulted her in 1993, while Cuomo was hit with a lawsuit by his former executive assistant for sexual harassment. Trump’s own experience being sued under the law has fueled his opposition to it, despite being found liable for the assault. The law was primarily designed to give a window for child sex abuse victims to sue over alleged attacks they may have suppressed.
