A 10-year-old was killed and 4 others were injured in a shooting at a Texas flea market. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Gunfire erupted following an argument, and at least two people opened fire. The victims included a 10-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and a 37-year-old man; those three teenagers remained in the hospital as of Monday afternoon. Police are still investigating the roles of the 16-year-old and 18-year-old. The police have not publicly identified any other potential suspects. Chad Rogers, public informational officer for Pearland Police Department, addressed the situation, calling it tragic and unusual for the Pearland community. The flea market is known to attract over 10,000 visitors every weekend, as stated on its website. In 2023, there have been over 600 mass shootings in the United States, resulting in 259 children between the ages of 0 and 11 losing their lives due to gun violence, as per the Gun Violence Archive.
