A car crash in Houston early Saturday resulted in six deaths, including former NFL cornerback D.J. Hayden and two of his college teammates, Zach McMillan and Ralph Oragwu. The collision occurred around 2 a.m. after a Chrysler ran a red light in downtown Houston near the Gulf Freeway, striking an SUV with the right of way. Four people were dead when police arrived on the scene, and two others died later at a local hospital, said Houston Police Assistant Chief Megan Howard. Two others were injured in the crash, with one facing life-threatening injuries. Hayden, 33, played in the NFL for eight seasons ending in 2021 as a first-round draft pick by the Oakland Raiders in 2013. Police have not released the identities of the other victims, or information regarding who was in which vehicle. One of the deceased males appeared to be homeless. The driver of the Chrysler, responsible for running the red light, also lost their life.
