‘QAnon Shaman’ Jacob Chansley Makes Bid for Congress

Aspiring actor and infamous “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Angeli-Chansley, known for his role in storming the Capitol in January 2021, is reportedly running for a seat in the U.S. Congress in Arizona. Chansley, who was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his involvement in the Capitol riot, filed paperwork declaring his interest in filling the state’s 8th Congressional District seat. Despite previously identifying with the QAnon movement, Chansley now identifies as a Libertarian. His attorney previously stated that Chansley felt “betrayed” by former President Trump, but Chansley himself has expressed continued support for Trump. The Capitol rioter was known for storming the Capitol while shirtless and carrying a flagpole topped with a spear.
