Man, 60, assaulted by gang of six in Bronx park: authorities

A 60-year-old man was attacked by a group of six strangers while exercising in a Bronx park. The victim was working out inside Devoe Park near Webb Ave. and Father Zeiser Place about 11:20 a.m. on Friday when four men and two women ran up and beat and slashed him with a blade. The suspects fled the park in two dark-colored four-door sedans, heading north on University Ave. The victim was treated for minor injuries at St. Barnabas Hospital, but no arrests have been made. Police released surveillance images of the suspects and described them as Black. Anyone with information is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
