Kate Middleton brings back a rare, 1930s tiara for a stunning appearance
November 22, 2023
Kate Middleton, the 41-year-old Princess of Wales, stunned at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday during a state visit by sporting a tiara from the Queen Mother’s collection, unseen since the 1930s. She was welcoming President Yoon Suk Yeo and First Lady Kim Keon Hee of the Republic of Korea. King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other royal family members joined Kate and her husband, Prince William at the ceremony. The tiara, known as the Strathmore Rose, was initially a wedding gift to the Queen Mother. Kate Middleton has only been the second person to wear it in public, besides its original owner. The event also marked the fourth tiara worn by the Princess in her royal life. King Charles showed his strong bond with Middleton by calling her “my beloved daughter-in-law” during a banquet in October. During the evening, the monarch praised Korean pop culture and mentioned the presence of the K-pop band BLACKPINK, comparing it to Britain’s cultural history.
