Israeli Advance Forces Evacuation of Al-Shifa Hospital in Southern Gaza

The hospital in Gaza was evacuated by doctors, patients, and displaced residents amid Israel’s hunt for Hamas terrorists. The facility has been overrun by Israeli soldiers, leaving behind a handful of staff to treat the remaining patients. The Israel Defense Forces demanded the evacuation, leaving some of the sickest patients without essential supplies. The IDF, however, denied issuing an evacuation order and claimed that they were approached by the hospital’s director for assistance in securing a safe route for those who wished to flee. The hospital’s operations were forced to close down after a siege triggered by Hamas’ incursion which left many without basic supplies. Israeli forces have targeted hospitals in northern Gaza as part of their offensive against Hamas, and have carried out operations inside al-Shifa. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has led to thousands of fatalities and missing persons, with Israeli leaders vowing to continue until Hamas is eliminated.
