Haley and DeSantis go head to head in GOP showdown

Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis will face off in a slimmed-down Republican presidential debate with the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses less than six weeks away. The former UN ambassador will attempt to land powerful blows on DeSantis after catching up to him in recent polls. DeSantis faces pressure to show he can still battle Trump after campaign setbacks. Both candidates claim they can challenge Trump and unseat President Biden. Trump has no plans to attend the debate, and entrepreneurs Vivek Ramaswamy and ex-Gov. Chris Christie will also participate. Another debate is expected in early January before Iowa, with additional contests leading up to the Super Tuesday primaries.
