Elf Sequel: Casting Director Eyes Another ‘SNL’ Alum for Lead RoleNovember 25, 2023
The blockbuster film’s casting director Susie Farris shared her choice to star in a remake of the holiday film — former “SNL” star Bill Hader. Hader would be an endearing choice for the holiday film, according to Farris. Hader, who worked on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy series from 2005 to 2013, is no novice to holiday film fare either. He starred alongside Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick as Santa Claus’ kids in the 2019 Disney film “Noelle.” A “Elf” sequel is not currently in the works, as Ferrell previously revealed he turned down a $29-million offer to do a follow-up film. Farris hopes Ferrell reconsiders doing a sequel, and envisions Buddy the Elf as a dad in a potential follow-up film.
