“Diddy” Combs Faces Accusations of Sexual Assault in Manhattan Court
November 23, 2023The court complaint accuses rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 1991, including filming the attack. The lawsuit also claims that Combs settled a rape and sexual assault lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, less than 24 hours after it was filed. The suit filed Thursday alleges that Combs assaulted the woman after they had dinner at Wells Restaurant in Harlem and then invited her back to his studio. The lawsuit states that the drug Combs fed the woman incapacitated her, and he then proceeded to sexually assault her, all while recording the attack. The woman later learned that a male friend had viewed the video along with other men. The settlement with Ventura did not require Combs to admit wrongdoing. This case is one of the last brought under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law that allows victims of sex crimes to sue their alleged abusers despite the statute of limitations. This developing story will be updated.
