Brooklyn Hospital Faces $42M Lawsuit Over Death of Mother During Childbirth

The family’s attorney, Sanford Rubinstein, emphasized the tragedy of Fields’ passing, noting that now three children, ages 3, 5, and a newborn, will grow up without a mother. The family’s lawsuit alleges that medical malpractice was responsible for Fields’ death. According to the family’s lawyers, Fields had a normal pregnancy with no complications, and it was only after an emergency C-section that she went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead.
