Unreleased ‘Rust’ set videos reportedly show Alec Baldwin practicing gun safety
Alec Baldwin practices gun safety in previously unreleased videos from the set of “Rust” before firing a shot that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. NBC News obtained five videos lasting seven minutes, showing Baldwin practicing quick draws and firing prop guns while ensuring crew members stayed out of danger. One video reportedly shows Baldwin directing someone to move to the other side of the camera operator to avoid shooting towards them, and another shows him suggesting the crew film on a safer part of a trail. The footage was filmed just before the accident, and could be used in the ongoing criminal case against Baldwin, who denies any wrongdoing. Prosecutors have decided to move forward with involuntary manslaughter charges against him, and if convicted, he could spend 18 months in prison. “Rust” filming was completed in May, but the movie has yet to be released.
