The New York Daily News reported that on Friday, Villanova retired Mikal Bridges’ No. 25, further cementing his legacy at the school. Nets coach Jacque Vaugh and Brooklyn teammate Lonnie Walker IV were in attendance to support him. Former Villanova teammates Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson had their college numbers retired in 2022 and earlier this year, while Ryan Arcidiacono had his number retired in 2020. Bridged was part of the team that won NCAA championships in 2016 and 2018 and is now playing for Brooklyn. Cam Johnson, who also joined the Nets in the trade that sent Kevin Durant to Phoenix, said it was a great accomplishment and noted how Bridges doesn’t talk much about college despite his achievements.
