Tragic Event Unfolds as Thai Groom Commits Murder-Suicide at Wedding

A Thai groom killed his bride and four others at their wedding reception before taking his own life. Another person was also seriously injured. The groom, a former paramilitary ranger, lost his right leg in an incident while on duty with the paramilitary light infantry force. He won a silver medal in swimming at the Asean Para Games in Indonesia last year and was supposed to compete in the World Abilitysport Games in Thailand next month. The 29-year-old groom and the bride had lived together for three years before getting married. The groom, who was reportedly intoxicated, began shooting after an argument with his bride. He legally purchased the firearms a year earlier.
