Tragedy Strikes Fort Stewart: Army Family of 4 Found Dead in Their Home

The bodies of a U.S. Army soldier, her husband, and their two children were discovered in their home at Fort Stewart in Georgia. The base officials did not disclose the identities of the victims, but they assured the community that there is no threat to the safety of the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield. The incident was described as isolated and no criminal suspects were mentioned. The woman’s unit had requested a welfare check, and upon arrival, military police found the family unresponsive. The victims were declared dead later in the evening. Fort Stewart, located about 30 miles southwest of Savannah, is home to the 3rd Infantry Division and employs over 20,000 people. In recent years, there have been other deadly incidents at or near the base, including a soldier being charged with murder and a suicidal soldier intentionally crashing helicopters.
