Nets’ Cam Thomas and Dennis Smith Jr. sidelined for Tuesday’s game against Raptors
November 29, 2023The Nets will once again be without guards Cam Thomas and Dennis Smith Jr. for their game against the Toronto Raptors. Thomas has missed nine games due to an ankle injury, while Smith has been out for five games with a back injury. Both players were seen participating in simulated play during shootaround, and head coach Jacque Vaughn said they are getting closer to returning.
Thomas has been the team’s leading scorer, averaging 26.9 points per game in eight appearances. Smith has been contributing 3.2 assists per game off the bench. Additionally, forward Cam Johnson has been dealing with cramping issues, causing him to miss parts of recent games. Vaughn and his staff are monitoring Johnson closely and expect him to play reduced minutes until the issue is resolved. Johnson missed preseason due to a hamstring strain and also missed seven games earlier in the season due to a calf strain.
