Man in Montauk Arrested for Vandalizing with Swastikas and Anti-Semitic GraffitiDecember 6, 2023
Police arrested Michael Nicholoulias, 74, after he vandalized businesses in Montauk with swastikas and anti-Jewish messages. The antisemitic graffiti was found on doors, fences, picnic tables, food trucks, and signs at Ditch Plains Beach. Nicholoulias was under surveillance since November 10 and is accused of 14 separate acts of hateful vandalism. He was charged with aggravated harassment and criminal mischief, and pleaded not guilty. He was released after a court hearing with two orders of protection and GPS monitoring. Rabbi Josh Franklin of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons likened the vandalism to a modern-day Kristallnacht.
