Lawsuit Filed Against Jamie Foxx for Alleged Sexual Assault at New York City Rooftop Lounge

Actor Jamie Foxx is facing a sexual assault lawsuit filed on the eve of the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act. The act allowed adult survivors of sexual assault to sue their abusers, regardless of when the abuse occurred. The alleged 2015 assault occurred at New York City rooftop lounge Catch NYC & Roof. The plaintiff, going by Jane Doe, claims that Foxx made inappropriate comments and touched her in a secluded area of the rooftop. The incident left the plaintiff injured and emotionally distressed. The lawsuit also accuses the restaurant owners of failing to protect the woman. The plaintiff is demanding compensatory and punitive damages. Neither Foxx nor the restaurant had commented Wednesday evening. Other celebrities, including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Axl Rose, have also faced new suits alleging sexual abuse in the wake of the Adult Survivors Act.
