Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband mandated to pay millions to her in divorce settlement
November 30, 2023
Music manager Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, was ordered by a California labor commissioner to return $2,641,374 in allegedly overcharged fees for booking gigs for the popstar. Blackstock, 46, was found to have taken home money for booking jobs and finalizing deals usually reserved for agents. This included earning a commission of $1.98 million for booking Clarkson as a judge on “The Voice” and only $93.30 for hosting the Billboard Music Awards. However, Blackstock does not have to return the money he earned for helping Clarkson land “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” In addition to this financial dispute, Clarkson had to pay $1.3 million to Blackstock as part of their divorce settlement. The couple, who share a son and daughter, married in 2013 and finalized their divorce in early 2022. Clarkson was also ordered to pay $45,000 per month in child support and $115,000 per month in spousal support, with the latter ending in January.
