Jets Bring Back LT Duane Brown from Injured Reserve

The Jets have activated left tackle Duane Brown off injured reserve just before the deadline. Gang Green had until Thursday to either activate Brown to the 53-man roster or lose him for the rest of the season. Brown’s 21-day practice window was opened on Nov. 2 after he was placed on injured reserve due to a hip injury in Week 2. Jets coach Robert Saleh wanted to see if Brown could handle physical contact before potentially activating him for the upcoming game against the Dolphins on Black Friday. The Jets’ offensive line has been plagued by injuries, with a league-high 11 players starting in 10 games. Mekhi Becton, who replaced Brown, is currently dealing with a low ankle sprain, so rookie Carter Warren is expected to step in at left tackle. The Jets also signed Xavier Newman from the practice squad to start at right guard, releasing Chris Glaser to make room for Brown and Newman.
